New Mural Planned for Downtown Bel Air

The mural will be located behind the Bel Air Armory.

BEL AIR, MD – A new mural is planned in Bel Air, and town officials are looking for a muralist to create it.

The mural will be located at 37 North Main Street in Bel Air behind the Bel Air Armory, on the wall of the garages facing Lee Street, in a space 17 feet high and 21 feet wide. Town officials anticipate the artwork will be completed in June and July.

"The concept for the mural is to create a colorful, inviting piece of public art that highlights Bel Air as a designated Arts and Entertainment District," according to the call for muralists. "The purpose of the mural is to provide visual appeal to the blank wall on the north side of the Armory garages and to provide additional public art in the downtown area."
