New Tea Shop Opening In Bel Air

There is a bubble tea shop coming to Bel Air in the Tollgate Marketplace.

BEL AIR, MD — A new business is brewing for tea lovers in Bel Air. Signage recently installed at Tollgate Marketplace revealed the latest tenant.

Gong Cha will move into the 1,200-foot-space adjacent to Barnes & Noble.

The store sells bubble tea, which is tea that comes with tapioca balls. Tea drinks are freshly brewed every four hours.

The company is known for its "milk tea," featuring a layer of slightly salted cream above the tea.

In the old hhgregg space, Sprouts opened a market focused on fresh and natural foods in July.

Next door, Homesense is renovating the old Toys R Us; the home decor business is expected to open by the end of the fourth quarter.

More businesses are in the pipeline. The property manager, HR Retail, reports three additional unidentified businesses are in negotiations about spaces at Tollgate Marketplace that account for more than 8,500 square feet.
