Norrisville Road House Fire Causes 'Significant' Damage, Officials Say

Firefighters needed 30,000 gallons of water Sunday to extinguish a blaze in north Harford, officials reported.

NORRISVILLE, MD — The fire marshal is investigating what caused a blaze in north Harford early Sunday morning that torched a house and left "significant damage" in the area, officials said.

At 3:18 a.m., crews responded to the 5300 block of Norrisville Road, where an unoccupied house was engulfed in flames, which spread to three additional structures, according to Jenn Chenworth, spokeswoman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.

Battling the blaze were firefighters from Harford and Baltimore counties along with crews from York County, Pennsylvania, Chenworth said. First responders reportedly used 30,000 gallons of water from nearby sources — including the cistern at Norrisville Elementary School — to put out the fire.
