Northside Creamery Opening In Aberdeen This Summer
Northside Creamery has plans to open in Aberdeen this summer with flavors such as banana pudding, salted caramel and butter pecan.
ABERDEEN, MD — Northside Creamery will be bringing its frozen concoctions to Aberdeen with plans to open yet this summer at 18 Howard Street.
According to Aberdeen Mayor Patrick McGrady, the building has received a new roof, plumbing and a new water service so far. Owners still will replace the windows, doors and insulation, McGrady noted in a Facebook post.
Northside Creamery is part of Aberdeen’s Main Street Reimagination Plan, which has a mission to “cultivate a vibrant and thriving downtown that enhances residents’ and visitors’ quality of life,” according to the city’s main street website.

In a Facebook post made in October 2025, Northside Creamery said it had made a "bold decision to set up shop in a seemingly unlikely location."
"We were asked, quite starkly, 'Why would you possibly choose *this* location? There's no foot traffic! There's *nothing* here!' Our response? 'Exactly.' This wasn't a hasty decision, but an intentional move to breathe new life into a space that *needed* revitalization. The same spirit that drives entrepreneurs across America is alive and well in Aberdeen, and you'll see just that on our opening day. It started with a vision, and it's quickly becoming a reality. We can't wait to serve Aberdeen," the ice cream shop wrote.

The new shop shares ownership with Edgewood Creamery, which opened in Harford County in May 2021 not far from the Aberdeen Proving Ground gate.
Their menu features creative homemade flavors such as Ube, banana pudding, salted caramel, butter pecan and other seasonal options. Ice cream is made fresh on site and can be enjoyed in a cone or cup, as a sundae, float, milkshake or custom ice cream cake. There's also non-dairy options.
