Ocean City Brewing Company Opening in Abingdon
A taphouse is coming to the Box Hill area.

Joe’s Crab Shack is leaving the Boulevard at Box Hill, making way for a Maryland taphouse.
Ocean City Brewing Company announced on its website that it will take the crab shack’s place in Abingdon, opening in late October.
The restaurant will feature more than 150 craft beers, a patio beer garden, sports bar, children’s playground and family restaurant.

The company’s flagship location opened in 2014 on Coastal Highway, where it offers a full menu, plus signature beer and vodka.
The list of beers ranges from “Devil’s Mistress,” a malty brew with 12 percent alcohol content, to “Pumpkin Hollow,” a pumpkin-spiced ale with 4.5 percent alcohol.

The Abingdon restaurant will be close to home for owner Josh Shores, who lives in Bel Air when he’s not in Ocean City, the Baltimore Business Journal reported.
Shores, an Ocean City native, said when he founded the company, his vision was “to bring new brew” to his hometown and “keep creating new things” that would ”appeal to everyone’s taste,” according to Ocean City Today.
A year later, the concept is catching on and growing.
But before the taphouse opens its doors in Abingdon, it’s looking to hire.
Ocean City Brewing Company reports that the restaurant is seeking managers, bartenders, servers, kitchen staff, cooks and other employees. Interested candidates may send the business a Facebook message or email their resumes to info@ocbrewingcompany.com.
Joe’s Crab Shack is leaving the Boulevard at Box Hill less than four years since opening; it welcomed its first customers in January 2012.
