One Hospitalized from Edgewood Townhome Fire: Officials
A woman was taken to the hospital after fire Monday in Edgewood, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

One person was hospitalized after an Edgewood townhouse blaze Monday morning, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
At 10:56 a.m., a woman inside the home in the 500 block of Jamestown Court notified authorities about the fire, the fire marshal reported.
The blaze began when improperly discarded smoking material ignited a mattress in a second-floor bedroom, the report said.

Approximately 15 firefighters from Joppa-Magnolia, Abingdon and APG responded, bringing the blaze at the two-story townhouse under control within five minutes, according to the report.
The woman at the home was taken to Upper Chesapeake for minor smoke inhalation and anxiety, the report said.

The incident caused $500 in damage, according to the report.
