4 Displaced By Jarrettsville House Fire: Officials
The house fire Wednesday morning caused more than $200,000 in damage, the fire marshal reported.
JARRETTSVILLE, MD — A fire in Jarrettsville Wednesday morning injured one person and displaced three, officials say.
Fire broke out in the 1400 block of Knopp Road at approximately 7:23 a.m., according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
The owner's granddaughter, who lived in the home, discovered the two-story house was filling with smoke and found flames coming from the garage, according to the fire marshal. She notified her mother, who put the homeowner — the 91-year-old grandmother — in a wheelchair to safely leave the residence.

One civilian sustained a minor injury, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association. The injury was believed to be non life-threatening, he said.
Approximately 30 firefighters, including crews from Harford and York counties, responded and brought the blaze under control in 45 minutes, officials reported.

There was $180,000 in structural damage to the two-story home, the fire marshal said. In addition, an estimated $50,000 items worth of items inside were damaged.
Friends and family were said to be assisting the four people who lived in the home, which included three generations — a grandmother, mother, son and daughter.
