One Rescued from Shucks Road Crash: Bel Air VFC

A person trapped in a vehicle Monday morning was freed by the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company, official said.

BEL AIR, MD — One person was hospitalized Monday morning after a crash on Shucks Road, according to Rich Gardiner of the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company.

The victim had to be rescued from the vehicle, which crashed at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Shucks Road near Edwards Lane. First responders had freed the individual within 10 minutes, he reported.

Due to weather, Gardiner said the medevac was unavailable, and first responders took the victim to a regional trauma center for treatment.

It was overcast on Monday, with temperatures dropping into the 40s and rain falling as the day progressed.

As of 6:15 p.m., Gardiner said Harford County first responders were handling 15 active incidents, including four crashes. In two of those, he said people were trapped.

"Please use caution as you travel about," Gardiner advised.

Sleet and rain were possible Tuesday morning in Bel Air, according to the forecast from the National Weather Service.
