Owner Of Mountain Branch Golf Course Declares Bankruptcy
The financial reorganization comes six years after the owners purchased the 264.1-acre property on Mountain Road.

JOPPA, MD — The company that owns Mountain Branch has filed for bankruptcy. The sprawling golf course and restaurant on Mountain Road will reportedly stay open as the company reorganizes its finances.
Jazpal LLC, which owns the Mountain Branch property, filed on Sept. 4 for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Maryland.
Under Chapter 11, a company is given protection from creditors as it proposes a way to restructure and pay off debts.

Konstantinos Vasilakopoulos is listed as the managing member of Jazpal LLC on court documents.
Vasilakopoulos and Joseph Miklasz, described as entrepreneurs in the restaurant industry, purchased the golf course and its restaurant on Aug. 31, 2012, according to the Baltimore Business Journal. The business was previously owned by a financial group out of Pennsylvania, the journal reported.

Mountain Branch spans 264.1 acres and includes a semiprivate golf course and grille/pub at 1827 Mountain Road in Joppa.
The attorney Jazpal has retained said the bankruptcy will not affect business operations, telling The Aegis the case was a "legal problem involving the owners" and "has nothing to do with the golf course."
A meeting with Mountain Branch's creditors will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 10.
