Panera Thieves Strike Again: Harford Sheriff
The Harford County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fraud and theft case at the Abingdon Panera.

ABINGDON, MD — Two women are wanted in connection with thefts at the Panera in Abingdon, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office. Investigators say they believe the duo consists of the same "brazen" thieves involved in thefts at Panera over the summer.
In the most recent case, officials said a woman alerted authorities that she believed her wallet had been taken at the Panera on Merchant Boulevard on Wednesday, Nov. 28. Her credit card was used at several local businesses afterward, according to the sheriff's office.
Through investigation, authorities said they determined there were two suspects involved. Their pictures were released on Wednesday, Dec. 5, in hopes of identifying them.

"Do you recognize these women?" the Harford County Sheriff's Office posted on its Facebook page the evening of Dec. 5. "We certainly think we recognize them! Remember the Panera thefts a few months ago? Preliminary investigation leads deputies to believe these are the same suspects!"
In the August case, surveillance video showed two women pick up a table and walk it across the room at the Bel Air Panera so one could sit close to an unsuspecting victim. As the diner was engaged in conversation, she slid the woman's purse off her chair. That happened on Thursday, Aug. 23, the same day the suspects also allegedly struck the Abingdon Panera.
