Patrick Dailey, 52, of Joppa
Senior Deputy Patrick 'Pat' Dailey was killed in the line of duty while serving in Harford County.
Patrick Dailey was one of two deputies in Harford County killed in the line of duty on Wednesday, Feb. 10.
The 52-year-old, who worked in the court services division of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, was remembered as a hero.
He was a former Marine and 30-year veteran of the sheriff’s office, where he was instrumental in developing the Harford County Deputy Sheriff’s Union in 1989, according to a statement from the union. He was also a life member of the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company.

“Pat dedicated his life to protecting his community,” the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company (JMVFC) said in a statement. Dailey joined JMVFC when he was 16 years old and his service to the fire company spanned 37 years, with positions including chair of the bylaws committee and nine years as a member of the board of directors.
He is survived by two sons—17-year-old Tyler and 20-year-old Bryan—who have also joined the fire service.

Additionally, Dailey is survived by his girlfriend and his mother.
Service Information
Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 15, and Tuesday, Feb. 16, at Mountain Christian Church, 1824 Mountain Road, in Joppa, in the New Life Center.
A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17, at Mountain Christian Church’s New Life Center.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Toys For Tots Foundation Gift Processing Administrator, 18251 Quantico Gateway Drive Triangle, VA 22172.
