Perryman Horse Facility Being Considered For Maryland's New Thoroughbred Training Center

Harford Co. Exec. Bob Cassilly wrote to state leaders emphasizing the benefits of using the Perry horse facility as the new training center.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — County officials are lobbying for a site in Perryman to become Maryland's new thoroughbred training center.

The proposed Mitchell Farm Training Center on the Perryman Peninsula near Aberdeen ranked highest of all potential locations in a recent report by the Maryland Thoroughbred Racetrack Operating Authority.

Harford County Executive Bob Cassilly sent letters to the Maryland General Assembly Feb. 15 to demonstrate support for the Perryman property to be chosen as the final site. In his letter, Cassilly said the center features two training tracks, ample training stalls, an equine wellness center and dormitories.
