Sheriff Says Joppa Barricade Has Ended
Several roads in Joppa were closed during an incident involving a man with a gun, the Harford County Sheriff's Office reported.
JOPPA, MD — A domestic incident ended when a man committed suicide in Joppa on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said. Deputies had blocked off roads surrounding a residence following a report of a man who was alone with a handgun inside.
Officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of Atkisson Road for a report of a domestic incident at 10:28 a.m. When they arrived, officials said that a suicidal man with a gun was alone in a residence in that block.
Crisis negotiators, special response team members and sheriff's deputies established a perimeter and tried to work with the man to de-escalate the situation. Roads were closed, including Atkisson, Stockton and Singer.

Area of Singer Rd and Atkisson Rd in Harford Co is closed off. I'm hearing it's due to a barricade situation involving a man going in and out of his house waving a gun. Apparently his GF is in house too. pic.twitter.com/58o1H0wYFy
