Police Activity On Wheel Road Was Domestic: Officials
An intersection near Bel Air was temporarily closed Wednesday due to police activity.
BEL AIR, MD — A domestic-related call prompted road closures near Bel Air on Wednesday, July 17. The investigation centered around Wheel Road at MacPhail Road, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.
At 11:20 a.m., deputies were called to the 1000 block of East Wheel Road for a domestic incident, according to Cristie Hopkins, spokeswoman for the Harford County Sheriff's Office.
The person who called 911 from the home said the individual inside was acting erratically and posed a threat to the safety of everyone in the house, the sheriff's office reported.

Once investigators learned the person may have access to multiple weapons, deputies set up a perimeter, closed roads in the area and notified nearby residents as well.
After about an hour, the suspect left the home and was arrested, officials said. Nobody was injured.

The "incident has come to a safe conclusion," the Harford County Sheriff's Office reported at 12:25 p.m. "Thank you for your patience as deputies conclude their investigation and reopen the roads."
Traffic was impacted from about noon to 12:30 p.m., according to officials.
