Police To Crack Down On Route 24 This Weekend

Put down the phone, put on your seatbelt and be aware that Saturday police will be out in force around Route 24 in Bel Air.

BEL AIR, MD — Drivers have another reason to park their phones while behind the wheel this weekend.

Officers will be looking for speeders, seat belt violations and drivers using their handheld phones on Saturday, April 17, according to the Bel Air Police Department.

The traffic enforcement operation will take place along the MD 24 corridor, police said.

Authorities also remind drivers of Maryland's Move Over Law, which requires those approaching emergency vehicles to move into a lane not immediately adjacent to the emergency vehicle and slow down if it is not possible to move.

The Harford County Sheriff's Office is also conducting a sobriety checkpoint Saturday, April 17.
