Popular Snowball Stand Won't Return For Summer
Patrons of Waldo's Snowballs expressed disappoint on social media when they learned the business won't reopen for the summer.

BEL AIR, MD — A longtime summer favorite announced on social media that it would not be reopening this year.
Waldo's Snowballs, a snowball stand, has been a fixture in the parking lot at Harford Mall in Bel Air since 2001. Owner Jamie Covington posted on the snowball stand's Facebook page that its lease to remain at the mall's parking lot wasn't renewed for the summer of 2026. The mall property is undergoing a major redevelopment.
“We have shared laughs, smiles, tears, stories, beautiful sunsets and (of course) delicious snowballs with you all and we will carry those great memories with us for a very long time,” the Facebook post said.

Covington said she thought about relocating the stand after being notified that her lease wouldn't be renewed, but moving the stand and dealing with electricity, safety and other issues made it impossible to reopen before the usual summer start date, according to The Baltimore Sun.
Loyal patrons posted on Facebook how much they'll miss Waldo's Snowballs and begged the business to find a new location.

In the meantime, Covington said fans of Waldo's Snowball can visit her brick and mortar business, Emmorton Snowballs & Ice Cream, at 101 E. Wheel Road in Bel Air.
"Thank you again for the love and support, and we hope to see you at our other business for your frozen dessert needs once they reopen for this season," she posted on Facebook.
