Portable Toilet Arson at Harford Tech Under Investigation, Officials Say

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office and Office of the State Fire Marshal are investigating a blaze that broke out inside a Spot-A-Pot at Harford Technical High School on Thursday, officials said.
The fire was being investigated as arson, the fire marshal reported.
A staff member at the high school in the 200 block of Thomas Run Road in Bel Air discovered the blaze at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, the report said. The fire started inside the portable toilet, according to the report.

Since the fire burned out on its own, firefighters were not summoned, the report said.
The blaze, which was intentionally set, caused $500 in damage to the Spot-A-Pot, according to the fire marshal.

The school resource officer and Harford County Sheriff’s Office are handling the investigation in conjunction with the Maryland State Fire Marshal.
