Power Strip In Bedroom Ignites Fire At Harford County Home: Official
The state fire marshal's office has determined that a power strip in a bedroom started a fire in a Harford County home causing $100K damage.

KINGSVILLE, MD — A power strip appears to have sparked a fire at a Harford County home late Tuesday morning.
Firefighters from several fire departments responded to the call about a fire at the two-story home located at 909 Louis Lane in Kingsville. The fire broke out around 11:52 a.m. Tuesday.
According to the Maryland Office of the State Fire Marshal, the owners, Thomas and Andrea Coke, weren't home at the time of the fire, but a contractor working outside the home noticed smoke coming from inside the house and called 911.

The first fire department on the scene, the Fallston Volunteer Fire & Ambulance Company, was able to contain the fire to one bedroom. But there was extensive heat, smoke and soot damage throughout the second floor and minor water damage on the first floor. Estimated damage and loss of contents combined stands at $100,000.
The family of four has been displaced and is being helped by family and friends, according to the fire marshal's office.
