Power Strip Caused Bel Air House Fire, Investigators Say
Authorities said an electrical failure sparked a house fire in Bel Air that took the life of a family pet.
BEL AIR, MD — A dog perished in a house fire in Bel Air over the weekend where authorities said a family of four was able to escape.
At 2:51 a.m. Saturday, officials said the owners of a home in the 1400 block of Rolling Place heard a window break and when they went to investigate, they found a fire in the living room.
About 45 firefighters from the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company controlled the blaze in 25 minutes, the fire marshal reported.

Investigators determined a power strip's electrical failure caused the fire in the living room.
