Proposed Bicycle, Pedestrian Connection To Be Discussed At Oct. 20 Meeting

A proposed bicycle and pedestrian connection between Harford Community College and Bel Air will be discussed at an Oct. 20 meeting.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Officials are seeking additional feedback from the public on plans for a bicycle and pedestrian connection between Harford Community College and Bel Air.

The Harford County Department of Planning & Zoning will hold a meeting for citizens to drop in anytime from 5 – 7 p.m. on Oct. 20 on the first floor conference room at the county government building, 220 S. Main Street in Bel Air. The meeting is a follow-up to an initial request for public input in June that garnered 137 responses in-person and online. Those responses have been evaluated by Whitman, Requardt and Associates, the consultants hired by county government with grant funding from the Kim Lamphier Bikeways Network Program of the Maryland Department of Transportation.

On Oct. 20, the consultants will share viable projects to improve conditions along potential routes for the connection. They also will present phasing schedules that may guide capital planning and the pursuit of future grant funding.
