Protesters In Bel Air Chant 'Cancel Kavanaugh': Report
The demonstration outside the courthouse in Bel Air centered around Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh.
BEL AIR, MD — A group of protesters gathered outside the Bel Air courthouse this week, sounding off about Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh. They were one group among many around the country that have sprung up after sexual assault allegations were waged against Kavanaugh.
Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, a psychology professor at Palo Alto State University and a research psychologist at Stanford University who accused the judge of drunkenly trying to force himself on her when she was 15, was questioned about the allegations last Thursday during a hearing on Capitol Hill.
Kavanaugh vehemently denied Ford's and other women's accusations of sexual misconduct and called his confirmation process a "national disgrace" during his fiery testimony to the committee.

In the week since, the FBI has conducted an investigation into the matter, and scores of women's groups have come out in support of Ford and sexual assault victims in general.
Together We Will-Harford County/Upper Chesapeake organized a demonstration Wednesday night along Bel Air's Main Street, where protesters held signs with messages such as "KavaNOPE" and "Believe Survivors."

The group, which works toward social justice, posted on its Facebook page that it was holding a vigil to let politicians know they did not support Kavanaugh, stating: "Kavanaugh has shown that he is hostile to women," citing his rulings on women's health and the sexual assault allegations against him.
Approximately 40 to 50 people joined the demonstration in Bel Air on Main Street near Route 22, according to The Aegis, which reported they yelled things like: "Cancel Kavanaugh" and had honks from supporters as well as others yelling in dissent.
Lawmakers could vote on the Kavanaugh nomination Friday, since the FBI submitted its report.
Meanwhile, groups across the country were holding demonstrations Thursday night in protest.

To the women standing on the corner in Historic Bel Air holding up signs supporting survivors & protesting Brett Kavanaugh: I praise you for your actions and while I do not hold much faith that you will sway anyone in this town I pray that you touch at least one heart tonight.
