Race In Bel Air To Cause Brief Road Closure
The event near the Bel Air Athletic Club raises funds for an 11-year-old Harford County boy battling cancer.

BEL AIR, MD — Drivers may come upon brief road closures Sunday morning around the Bel Air Athletic Club, according to police.
Gateway Drive will be closed in the area of Blum Court, near the post office, the Bel Air Police Department reported.
The closure is due to the Living for Livi 5K Run and 1K Walk, which begins and ends at Bel Air Athletic Club. Participants will run or walk to the gravel Ma & Pa Trail, where they will do an an out-and-back trip before returning to the Bel Air Athletic Club. Following the run/walk, there will be a festival for families.

The road closure on Gateway Drive will occur briefly between 8 and 9 a.m., police said.
The event is called the Living For Livi Running Festival - A Race for Mase, taking place from 8:30 to 11 a.m. on Sunday, May 7.

The race is a fundraiser for Mason Howell, an 11-year-old North Harford Middle School student who is battling cancer. Now in seventh grade, Mason is battling cancer for the second time; he first overcame it in kindergarten.
All race proceeds will go to the Howell family for Mason's treatment and hospital care. There is a also a GoFundMe campaign set up for Mason Howell.
