Rape, Assault Charges Filed Against Maryland Park Ranger At Gunpowder Falls State: Police
A 71-year-old Maryland state park manager at Gunpowder Falls State has been charged with a string of rapes, sexual contact and assaults.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — One of the few remaining armed Maryland Park Service rangers who managed Gunpowder Falls State Park has been charged with a string of rapes and other sexual assaults that happened in a 6-month period.
Michael John Browning, 71, was arrested Tuesday on 21 counts, including seven felony charges of second-degree-rape and 14 misdemeanor assault and sexual contact charges, according to WTOP. Baltimore County Police said Browning assaulted the same victim during those 6 months. The age or sex of the victim was not disclosed.
Detectives said they believe there may be other potential victims and are asking anyone with information about Browning to call Baltimore County’s Special Victim’s Unit at 410-887-2223.
