Rape, Child Porn Charges Involving 13-Year-Old Girl Filed Against Joppa Man: Police

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A Joppa man has been arrested and charged with several sex offenses involving the rape of a 13-year-old girl.

On Jan. 20, the Frederick Police Department's Major Crimes Unit was contacted about a 13-year-old teen being raped by a 44-year-old man later identified as Edwin Richard Hunt. An investigation revealed that Hunt contacted the 13-year-old girl through Reddit and Snapchat.

According to the Frederick Police Department, Hunt drove from Joppa to Frederick to have sex with the teen.

Hunt has been charged with four counts of second-degree rape, one count of second-degree attempted rape, one count of third-degree sex offense, one count of sexual solicitation of a minor, one count of child pornography permit sex subject and one count of attempted child pornography permit sex subject.
