HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Recycle your pumpkins this fall at the Harford Waste Disposal Center at 3139 Scarboro Rd. in Street, which is open Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.

Like other vegetable scraps, pumpkins are compostable. Leftover peelings, rinds and cores are ideal composting materials because they break down quickly and easily, developing into nutrient-rich fertilizer, according to the waste disposal center.
