Rescue, Medevac Required for Belair Road Crash: Officials

A helicopter landed at Walmart to pick up someone involved in crash Tuesday morning, Harford County first responders reported.

Bel Air, MD — Drivers may be delayed on Belair Road near the Bel Air bypass Tuesday morning as crews clear a two-vehicle crash that required a rescue and medevac, officials said.

The crash happened in the 1300 block of Belair Road, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.

One person was airlifted by Maryland State Police helicopter to a regional trauma center, Gardiner reported; the medevac landed at Walmart.

Gardiner said it took approximately 10 to 15 minutes to free someone trapped inside a vehicle, and crews were clearing the scene around 8:45 a.m.
