Joppa Resident Pinned Under Lawnmower In A Stream: Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Co.
Firefighters pulled a riding lawnmower off a Joppa resident who was trapped under the equipment in a stream Monday.
JOPPA, MD — A resident was trapped under a riding lawn mower in a stream in the 400 block of Joppa Farm Road Monday.
Firefighters from the Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company arrived and pulled the mower off of the resident. EMS workers with the Harford County Department of Emergency Services checked out the individual for injuries, according to the fire company.

- Wear close-fitting clothes
- Pull back long hair
- Wear long pants and non-slip boots
- Wear safety glasses and a face shield
- Hearing protection
- Avoid abrupt starts, stops and sharp turns that can cuase equipment to roll over
- Don't use a riding mower on slopes if possible
- If you must mow an incline, use the riding mower to mow up and down not across so the mower don't become unbalanced and keep the heavy end uphill to avoid a rollover
