Richard C. Sexton, 71, of Bel Air, passed away on Dec. 6, 2015, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air.
Born in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Ralph Clark Sexton and Ethel Irene (Seitz) Sexton. He was a 1962 graduate of North Harford High School and had attended Harford Junior College and the University of Maryland. He received his bachelor’s degree in Education from Towson State College.
After 37 years he retired from Baltimore City Public Schools, where he taught math and computer science. For 47 years, he operated his own accounting service and was a member of the National Society of Accountants. He enjoyed watching University of Maryland sports, especially their basketball team and “back in the day” he played saxophone in dance bands.

Mr. Sexton is survived by his wife of 47 years, Judith M. Sexton; son Andrew C. Sexton and wife, April, of Westminster; daughter, Carrie S. Johnson and husband, Jason, of Forest Hill; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Sarah Sexton and Lillian and Evan Johnson. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister, Esther Lee Whiteford.

Visitation will be from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at McComas Funeral Home, 50 W. Broadway, Bel Air.
A graveside service will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 10, at Norrisville United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2811 W. Church Lane, White Hall.
