Ronald M. 'Bubbins' Stearns, 68, of Bel Air

On Feb. 2, 2016, devoted son of the late Willy Lou Stearns and the late C. Courtney Stearns; dear brother of John David Stearns and wife Dottie, Cameron C. Stearns and wife Hazel; adored uncle of Christine Potts and husband Bernd, Jennifer Gleeson and husband David, John David Stearns, III and wife Stacy, Cameron C. Stearns III, Christine Siegel and husband David, and Brian Laing and wife Julie.

He was known as “Bubbins” to his family and many friends. He was a graduate of Bel Air High School and Towson University and worked for thirty years for the State of Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Despite battling diabetes from age 24, Ron was an accomplished and ardent golfer and skier. A lifelong resident of Bel Air, he was devoted to the many cats he took in as strays over the years and was a staunch environmental advocate for all wildlife.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Natural Resources Defense Council or the American Diabetes Association.

Visitation will be from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, at McComas Funeral Home, 50 W. Broadway, Bel Air.
