Route 22 Traffic Lights Out: Harford Emergency Services

A power outage has affected traffic and brought one area to a standstill in Harford County, officials said Wednesday night.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — The Harford County Department of Emergency Services has asked drivers to avoid MD 22 Wednesday night because a power outage has impacted the traffic signals.

Traffic lights on Route 22 at the Churchville intersection are out of service, officials said after 7:30 p.m.

"The traffic signal could be out for a significant period of time," emergency services personnel said in a statement. "Please avoid the area as traffic is at a stand still."

The intersection of Routes 22 and 136 was jammed up since the morning when wires fell down, sparking a transformer, according to Harford County fire and EMS officials.
