Route 40 Crash Involved A Pedestrian: Maryland State Police

A pedestrian-involved crash near MD 543 early Tuesday morning caused a partial shutdown of Route 40, officials reported.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A crash on US 40 near Riverside closed part of the road early Tuesday morning. The crash happened on US 40 east in the area of MD 543, according to state transportation officials.

Authorities said the collision occurred around 1:15 a.m., and it involved a pedestrian.

Afterward, the eastbound side of Route 40 was closed. Westbound lanes were open, officials reported.
