Route 543 Reopens After Crash: Officials
The crash temporarily closed Route 543 in Harford County Thursday night, the State Highway Administration reported.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A crash in Harford County late Thursday night shut down MD 543, according to the State Highway Administration. The collision occurred around 11:41 p.m., and officials said it was cleared within approximately three hours.
First responders were called to MD 543 at Gilmer Way, where one person was trapped in a vehicle as a result of the crash, according to the Abingdon Fire Company, which provided photos from the scene.
Two people were hospitalized from the collision, the fire company reported; one was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment, and another was taken by ambulance to Harford Memorial Hospital.

Route 543 was closed between US 40 and Brass Mill Road, transportation officals reported. The closure lasted until about 2:20 a.m., when officials said the crash had cleared and the road reopened.
