Route 543 Closed for Crash That Trapped Two People: Officials
First responders advised drivers to avoid the area Tuesday afternoon.

Two people were taken to regional trauma centers from a crash on MD Route 543 in the area of Kendall Gate Way Tuesday afternoon, officials said.
At 3:45 p.m., two people were trapped in vehicles on Route 543/South Fountain Green Road, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.
By 4:07 p.m., the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company reported that two people had been rescued from two different vehicles, but the road remained closed for police and fire operations.

The victims were taken to regional trauma centers by ambulance, the fire company reported.
