Ruffs Mill Road Fire Under Investigation

Two volunteer fire companies extinguished a blaze Sunday night on Ruffs Mill Road, a Bel Air fire official said.

BEL AIR, MD — Crews battled a fire on Ruffs Mill Road Sunday night near Bel Air. Firefighters from Bel Air and the Darlington Volunteer Fire Company brought the blaze under control within 10 minutes, according to Rich Gardiner of the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company.

Emergency personnel were dispatched to the 2100 block of Ruffs Mill Road around 8 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10.

Crews had to use fire hydrants off Jack Lane, which were the closest around, according to Gardiner. Jack Lane is about 1.5 miles away from the scene.

Nobody was injured, Gardiner said, and the Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze.
