Samantha Calvo Joins Maryland Manufacturing Extension Partnership as Controller of Organization's Accounting Department

MD MEP's New Employee to Lead the Organization's Financial Activity and Performance of Daily Monetary Tasks

Columbia, Md. – The Maryland Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MD MEP), the one and only resource for growing and advancing manufacturing in the State of Maryland, announced today that the organization has expanded its team with the addition of Controller, Samantha Calvo. In this role, Samantha will report directly to the CFO and be responsible for serving as a key part in managing MD MEP’s daily accounting activities and tasks.

Samantha’s overall responsibility will be to help develop and implement accounting procedures and controls, serving as an integral part in the implementation and measurement of program outcomes. She will also work with external auditors, leadership team members and account managers, assisting with annual programs and organization budgets.

“I am delighted to join the Maryland Manufacturing Extension Partnership team and lead the organization’s efforts in managing and handling the company’s day-to-day accounting transactions,” said Samantha Calvo. “I look forward to applying my skills, expertise and knowledge to advance MD MEP’s financial and accounting affairs which will continue to build its already established role in advancing manufacturers in the State of Maryland.”

Samantha has a broad set of professional skills in all aspects of Financial Accounting and Office Management. Prior to joining MD MEP, Samantha served as Accounting Supervisor for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, overseeing Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable staff while completing daily financial operation transcations related to cash flow, financial statements and other special analyses and projects. She previously served as Assistant Controller at Manganaro Midatlantic LLC in Beltsville, Md., and earlier as Senior Accountant in the Auditing and Accounting Department at Gross, Mendelsohn & Associates in Baltimore, Md.

Samantha graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) with a BS in Financial Economics and received a certification in Management Science. She furthered her education at the University of Baltimore, where she received a graduate certification in Accounting. She is also a member of the UMBC Alumni Board of Directors, and currently resides in Edgewater, Md.
