Scam Targets Harford County Residents
Harford County residents are being warned of a scam text being sent from a source pretending to be the MDOT MVA.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — The county sheriff's office warns of a scam impacting residents.
It involves a scam message being texted from what appears to be the Maryland Department of Transportation's Motor Vehicle Administration. The messages are coming from a 10-digit number or an inconsistent number of characters, the Harford County Sheriff's Office stated.
The messages express a sense of urgency or final notice. They also contain links that are suspicious.
