HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Officials said the second case of new coronavirus in Harford County has been confirmed. The person who tested positive is a family member of the 86-year-old woman who had traveled overseas and tested positive last week, according to Harford County Executive Barry Glassman.

The 69-year-old, who was in the household with the woman, has no symptoms and remains isolated at home, according to Glassman.

The 86-year-old woman is still hospitalized, Glassman reported Saturday.

"Public health officials have warned that the number of cases will rise as more people are tested, and the state has begun to report new cases on their website," Glassman said. There are 26 confirmed cases Saturday, according to the Maryland Department of Health.

"I encourage all Harford County citizens to continue following guidelines to limit the spread of the virus in our community," Glassman said. "Stay calm, and stay informed through credible sources including the Harford County Health Department website."
