Secret To Longevity Shared By Inspirational 94-Year-Old Bel Air Grandma
A Bel Air grandmother who, at age 94, has shared her secret for longevity. She also inspired one man to keep a Bel Air fitness club alive.
BEL AIR, MD — What's the secret to 94-year-old Marge Purvis' longevity? The Bel Air resident believes it's working out. In fact, she hits the gym in Bel Air four days a week and can push 310 pounds on the leg machine.
Purvis has been a member of the former Bel Air Athletic Club for 20 years, which was taken over by Coppermine. Current owner Alex Jacobs said Purvis is the one who motivated him to buy the property.
"You told me that you had six kids and that you're 94-years-old and that your husband had passed away, and that this club had actually saved your life,” Jacobs said to Purvis, “As soon as I talked to you, I said we're going to take over this club.”
