Security Breach at Aberdeen Proving Ground Gate Investigated
A vehicle recently drove through a gate onto Aberdeen Proving Ground without stopping for a security check, military officials say.

ABERDEEN, MD — A vehicle entered Aberdeen Proving Ground recently without stopping for a security check, then left the installation minutes later, Army officials have acknowledged.
The security breach is under investigation and was not announced to the public.
Kelly Luster, a spokesperson for the U.S. Army Garrison at APG, confirmed to The Aegis that a vehicle evaded the security process at the post's Route 22 gate on July 22.

"The vehicle was confirmed leaving the installation, and the safety and security of the APG community is our primary concern," Luster wrote in an email to the publication. "The situation is being investigated fully."
Video surveillance footage showed the vehicle came into the facility through the Route 22 gate and then left through the same gate minutes later, Luster said.
