Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued For 3 Counties In MD
Baltimore, Cecil and Harford counties may be impacted by a storm with strong winds and torrential rain, officials say.
A storm west of Aberdeen prompted a severe thunderstorm warning early Thursday morning. Torrential rainfall was occurring with the storm, which the National Weather Service warned may lead to flash flooding.
At 12:17 a.m., officials said radar detected a storm with 60 mph winds over Pleasant Hills, or 11 miles west of Aberdeen, that was moving northeast at 25 mph.

During the severe thunderstorm warning period, wind may cause trees and large branches to fall, injuring people outside as well as damaging homes and vehicles. Roads could become blocked by fallen trees, and power outages are possible. People should go inside to the lowest floor and an interior room to stay safe.
These areas may be impacted, officials say: Aberdeen, Havre de Grace, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Calvert, Bel Air South, Bel Air North, Fallston, Riverside, Kingsville, North East, Pleasant Hills, Rising Sun, Perryman, Zion, West Nottingham, Octoraro, Bay View, Richardsmere, Woodlawn and Conowingo.

A flash flood watch is in effect for northeastern Maryland including Baltimore until 2 a.m. and for the Washington metro area and Anne Arundel County until 4 a.m., officials say.
