Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued For Harford County
BREAKING: A weather alert has been issued for Harford County by the National Weather Service.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Harford County Sunday afternoon. The warning is in effect until 3:45 p.m.
A severe thunderstorm was detected over Riverside at approximately 3 p.m., and the National Weather Service reported it was nearly stationary.
Earlier, radar also detected a thunderstorm with 60 mph wind gusts and hail the size of quarters over Aberdeen Proving Ground around 2:15 p.m. that was moving southeast at 5 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

During the severe thunderstorm warning period, people should go inside to stay safe from wind and lightning. Do not drive underneath wooded areas until the threat has passed, as trees and branches may fall. Roads may become blocked by downed trees, and localized power outages are possible, according to the warning. People should go inside and move to an interior room on the lowest level.
These areas may be impacted, according to the warning: Aberdeen, Havre de Grace, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Bel Air South, Riverside, Perryman, Edgewood, Harford Furnace, Abingdon, Carsins and Belcamp.

Boaters were also put on alert, as they may be thrown overboard on the Chesapeake Bay north of Pooles Island during the storm. A special marine warning was issued for Northeast River, Turkey Point, Spesutie Island and Aberdeen Proving Ground.
