ShopRite Of Main Street Cleared After Package Investigation: BAPD

BEL AIR, MD — A suspicious package at the ShopRite on Main Street prompted a temporary evacuation of the grocery store Friday night, according to the Bel Air Police Department. The package was later deemed harmless, police said.

The grocery store in the 200 block of North Main Street and the parking lot were evacuated as a precaution before 9 p.m., according to authorities. The Office of the State Fire Marshal was headed to the scene, police said.

The issue was investigated and the area was reopened, officials reported.
