Smoking Mattress Draws Firefighters to Bel Air Apartment: Officials
Multiple fire companies were called to apartment complex on Kings Crossing Circle Monday.

Firefighters handled a small blaze at a Bel Air apartment complex Monday night, according to officials.
Before 9 p.m., crews from Bel Air and Fallston responded to a reported apartment fire and found a “smoldering mattress” in an apartment in the 200 block of Kings Crossing Circle, said Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.
The sprinkler system contained the fire, and there were no injuries as a result, Gardiner said.

Despite the small size of the fire, the blaze caused $10,000 in damage, and the fire marshal was called in to investigate, according to Gardiner.
