School system carved out days to make up for time missed.

Spring is here, and students in Harford County Public Schools still have one snow day to spare built into the academic calendar.
So far, schools have been closed 10 days this year, Harford County Public Schools officials report:
- Jan. 6, 12 and 26
- Feb. 10, 17, 20 and 26
- March 2, 5 and 6
By law, Maryland students must be in school for 180 days each year.

To account for inclement weather, Harford County Public Schools built 11 days into the school calendar that could be used as makeup time for snow days.
If there is a snow day after Friday, March 20, the designated time to make it up is the final day of spring break: April 8. The two subsequent days—April 9 and 10—which had been marked as teacher development days, have now been turned into regular school days when students must report.
