Snow Forecast For Bel Air On Thursday, Jan. 17

There is a chance of snow in the forecast for the end of the week. See how much the National Weather Service is projecting.

BEL AIR, MD — The National Weather Service is calling for 1 to 2 inches of snow in Harford County between Thursday, Jan. 17, and Friday, Jan. 18. Snow will arrive days after 4 inches accumulated from Sunday's snowfall in Bel Air.

While earlier in the week it looked like Bel Air would be on the lower end, with 1 inch expected, the National Weather Service increased the expected snowfall amount for the heart of Harford in its forecast Wednesday morning.

According to the forecast, Bel Air, Jarrettsville and Norrisville will see about 2 inches of snow from 1 p.m. Thursday to 1 p.m. Friday. Most of the snow will fall after 7 p.m. on Thursday, according to the weather service.

The forecast calls for about 1 inch of accumulation in Aberdeen and Havre de Grace.

Here is the forecast for Bel Air from the National Weather Service:

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 39 and low of 22. West wind 5 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Thursday: A chance of snow after 4pm. Increasing clouds, with a high near 34. Light and variable wind becoming southeast around 6 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Thursday Night: Snow, mainly after 7pm. Low around 29. Southeast wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Friday: A slight chance of rain, snow, and freezing rain before noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 43. Calm wind becoming west 5 to 7 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 27.

Saturday: A chance of rain and snow after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 38. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Saturday Night: Rain and snow. Low around 34. Chance of precipitation is 100%.

Sunday: Rain and snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 44. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 10.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 14.
