Harford Under Winter Weather Advisory, Snow Forecast Increases
Here's the latest on the weekend forecast, including projected snow totals, for Harford County.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Get your snow boots ready, because it looks like a couple of inches of snowfall may be headed our way. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for snow in Harford County effective Saturday, Jan. 12, into Sunday, Jan. 13.
The advisory calls for 3 to 6 inches of snow.
Due to the weather, all Harford County Public Schools activities and any activities held at schools are canceled for Sunday, Jan. 13.

Drivers should be prepared for slippery roads, and pedestrians venturing out should be aware of the potential for icy steps, sidewalks and driveways, according to the advisory.
Harford, Baltimore and Anne Arundel counties are under the winter weather advisory from 7 p.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday.

The advisory was previously slated to end at 10 a.m., and it had also called for 2 to 5 inches of snow; the National Weather Service extended the winter weather advisory and increased the snowfall projections early Sunday morning.
The weather service issues a winter weather advisory when periods of snow will make travel difficult.
Monday morning commutes and school openings may be affected, according to the Maryland Emergency Management Agency (MEMA); below-freezing temps Sunday night may leave "lingering impacts of the storm in certain areas," MEMA advised.
Cecil County is under a winter weather advisory from 7 p.m. Saturday to 1 a.m. Monday calling for up to 4 inches of snow.
The DC metro and southern Maryland are poised to receive the most snow in this storm.
Charles, Montgomery and Prince George's counties along with DC are under a winter storm warning from 4 p.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday, with 6 to 10 inches of snow expected.
In southern Maryland, Calvert and St. Mary's counties are under a winter storm warning calling for 4 to 7 inches of snow from 7 p.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday.
