Maryland Weather Forecast Shows Snow As April Begins

The forecast from the National Weather Service shows snow is coming to Maryland.

BALTIMORE, MD — This is not an April Fools' joke: Snow is in the forecast for Maryland during the first days of April, according to the National Weather Service. The amounts are still up in the air, but it is likely that no more than a few inches of snow will accumulate overnight between Easter Sunday and Monday morning.

Temperatures will be above freezing, so forecasters say that whatever snow does fall will melt soon afterward.

In northeastern Maryland, accumulating snow late Sunday night into Monday may cause hazardous conditions during the Monday morning commute. The latest projections show about 1 to 2 inches of snow in Harford County, approximately 2 to 3 inches in Carroll County and less than 1 inch in Baltimore and points south, including Anne Arundel County and the D.C. metro area.

The Eastern Shore may have light snow with slippery roads, while weather officials say that more significant accumulations are expected in western Maryland.

Here is the latest snowfall projection map as of Saturday morning from the National Weather Service. It shows the most likely amounts of snow expected between 8 p.m. Sunday and 2 p.m. Monday. We will add updates as more info comes in from the National Weather Service:
