Snow Likely in Bel Air Thanksgiving Week: National Weather Service

The National Weather Service said there is 'still uncertainty in the exact storm track.'

The National Weather Service reports that there is snow in the Thanksgiving week forecast for Maryland and Virginia. When, where and how much snow is up in the air, according to the National Weather Service.

In a hazardous weather outlook issued Monday morning, the National Weather Service said that ”accumulating snow” and a wintry mix may fall Tuesday night through Wednesday night.

The forecast for Bel Air as of Monday morning showed the following chances of snow this week:

  • 40 percent chance Tuesday night
  • 90-percent chance Wednesday
  • 30-percent chance on Thanksgiving

“There is still uncertainty in the exact storm track, which will determine the rain/snow line and snow amounts,” the weather service reported.

While temperatures were in the sixties on Monday, they would drop to the fifties on Tuesday, dip below freezing Wednesday night and hit the low forties on Thanksgiving, according to the forecast, which is subject to change.
