Snowiest Day On Record: The Day Harford County Saw Most Snowfall
With winter more than one-third over, will Harford County break the snowiest day on record?

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Historical weather data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration shows the highest single-day snowfalls around the country. Every state, including Hawaii, has seen snow, which got 6.5 inches on Maui in February 1936.
In Maryland, the record for the highest single-day snowfall goes to Garrett County, which got 35.5 inches on Feb. 6, 2010.
In Harford County, the biggest one-day snowfall was Feb. 7, 2010. On that date, Norrisville saw 29 inches of snow, according to an analysis of government weather data.

The national record goes to Colorado, which saw more than six feet of snow on a single day. On April 15, 1921, it snowed 76 inches in Boulder County, Colorado.

With a little less than two months of winter left, the Old Farmer’s Almanac predicts a cold, snowy winter throughout much of the United States, with at least seven big snowstorms from one coast to the other. In our state, the Old Farmer's Almanac predicts weather that is "mild with soakers."
The competing Farmers' Almanac predicts that the eastern two-thirds of the United States can expect a snowy ride through the rest of the winter.
In the short term, the National Weather Service is calling for a chance of rain — no snow — this weekend in Harford County.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 42 and low around 28. Wind gusts as high as 22 mph.
Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 40 and low around 24.
Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 38 and low around 26.
Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 43 and low around 30. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
Saturday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 42 and low around 31. There's a 40 percent chance of daytime showers, decreasing to 30 percent in the evening.
Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 43 and low around 31.
