Sofa Fire Draws Crews to Bel Air Early Wednesday

Firefighters handled a flaming piece of furniture near a residence.

BEL AIR, MD – The Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company snuffed out a burning sofa Wednesday outside a residence.

Just after midnight, crews responded to the unit block of South Atwood Road and tended to this fiery furniture.

It had been put outside earlier on Tuesday, according to Rich Gardiner of the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, the sofa was completely engulfed in flames, Gardiner said.

The fire was ruled suspicious, according to Gardiner.
